El acero inoxidable dúplex F51 (UNS S31803/1.4462) presenta una microestructura única de 50:50 austenita y ferrita que combina excelente resistencia mecánica (hasta más de 480 MPa de límite elástico) con buena ductilidad y resistencia a la corrosión moderada a buena en diversos ambientes.
