Kovar (UNS K94610 / ASTM F15 / W.-Nr. 1.3981) es una aleacion de hierro-niquel-cobalto de expansion termica controlada, disenada para igualar el coeficiente de dilatacion del vidrio de borosilicato y la alumina ceramica. Su composicion, con 29 % de niquel y 17 % de cobalto, produce un coeficiente de expansion termica (CTE) de aproximadamente 5.1 × 10-6/C en el rango de 20-400 C, con un punto de inflexion alrededor de 430 C. SHUNFU METAL la suministra con certificaciones ISO 9001 y API Q1, respaldada por un inventario de 8,000 toneladas de aleaciones especiales y control de calidad integral en cada lote.

Kovar — Vision General

El Kovar ocupa una posicion unica en la ingenieria de materiales: no se selecciona por su resistencia mecanica ni por su tolerancia a la corrosion, sino por la precision de su expansion termica. Su CTE se mantiene excepcionalmente bajo y estable desde temperatura ambiente hasta el punto de Curie (435 C), igualando la curva de dilatacion del vidrio duro Pyrex y de ceramicas de alumina. Esta coincidencia es la clave para fabricar sellos hermeticos vidrio-metal que no se agrietan durante el enfriamiento ni durante los ciclos termicos de servicio. Los procesos internos de SHUNFU METAL —desde la fusion VIM con refinacion ESR para eliminar impurezas volatiles, hasta el recocido de recristalizacion a 880-900 C en atmosfera de hidrogeno— garantizan un control composicional extremadamente ajustado y una microestructura de grano fino y homogeneo que es esencial para la fiabilidad del sello hermetico.

SHUNFU METAL suministra el Kovar en estado recocido (condicion blanda) con acabado superficial brillante libre de oxido, obtenido mediante recocido en atmosfera de hidrogeno para garantizar una superficie limpia lista para el sellado. Bajo solicitud, se suministran estados semiduros (1/4 duro, 1/2 duro, 3/4 duro) para aplicaciones de estampacion profunda que requieran mayor rigidez. La preoxidacion superficial controlada (700-800 C en aire) puede realizarse internamente para clientes que requieran material listo para el proceso de sellado vidrio-metal.

SHUNFU METAL verifica la composicion de cada colada VIM+ESR mediante OES, con especial atencion a la relacion Ni/Co y al contenido maximo de impurezas. Desviaciones de solo 0.2 % en el contenido de niquel o cobalto pueden desplazar el punto de Curie y alterar la curva de expansion termica, comprometiendo la integridad del sello vidrio-metal. La densidad del material es 8.36 g/cm3, con punto de fusion de aproximadamente 1,450 C y punto de Curie a 435 C. La resistividad electrica es 0.49 μΩ·m y la conductividad termica 17.3 W/m·K.

Propiedades de Expansion Termica y Mecanicas

La propiedad definitoria del Kovar es su expansion termica controlada, no su resistencia mecanica. Los valores siguientes corresponden al estado recocido estandar segun ASTM F15 y GB/T 15018, tras tratamiento termico a 880-900 C en atmosfera de hidrogeno o vacio con enfriamiento controlado.
